About Vice Heist
Vice Heist is an independent fan publication covering Grand Theft Auto VI — leaks, official announcements, trailer breakdowns, guides, and a full database of vehicles, weapons, characters, missions, and locations once the game ships. It is run by a small editorial team (bylined as Vice Heist Editorial) and was founded in May 2026 to track the road to the November 19, 2026 launch.
We are not affiliated with Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games, or any of their subsidiaries. See our disclaimer for the full statement on trademarks and fair-use commentary.
Editorial Standards
Every published page passes a five-point review:
- No logo mimicry. We use our own visual identity. Rockstar trademarks and game imagery appear only for editorial commentary under fair use, always credited.
- No leaked-build content. We do not host, embed, or distribute datamined assets, leaked footage, or stolen code. Coverage of leaks discusses the reporting around them — not the stolen material itself.
- Sources cited. Every article that makes a factual claim links to primary sources in the frontmatter and the visible article footer. Single-source rumors are flagged as such.
- Disclaimer-friendly tone.Speculation is labeled. Hype is not editorial. We don’t write breathless “CONFIRMED” headlines for things that are not confirmed.
- No defamatory claims about real people. Leakers, executives, and developers are real human beings; we report on their public statements and track records, not their personal lives.
AI-assisted drafts pass through human editorial review before going live. Drafts are not published verbatim from a model.
How Rumor Scoring Works
Every report carries a status stamp visible at the top of the article:
- Confirmed — verified by Rockstar Games, Take-Two, or a first-party platform (PlayStation, Xbox, Epic, Steam).
- Rumored — single-source or multi-source reporting from outlets and leakers with mixed track records. Treat as interesting, not actionable.
- Leaked — material that appeared via channels outside official PR. We cover the reporting on these leaks; we do not republish the underlying assets.
- Speculation — editorial analysis explicitly framed as opinion, pattern-matching, or extrapolation from prior Rockstar titles. Not a claim that something is true.
- Denied — claims publicly disputed by Take-Two, Rockstar, or a named first party.
Articles that make a dated prediction also carry a Prediction verifies on date in the freshness banner. When the date arrives, we publish a post-mortem and link the original article forward to the successor via a successor field in the frontmatter — so a resolved rumor never leaves a reader guessing.
Corrections Policy
We correct factual errors openly and quickly. If an article’s claim is wrong, we update the article, log the correction at the bottom of the page, and update the Last verifieddate in the freshness banner. We do not silently rewrite history. If a rumor we covered is publicly denied, the article’s status stamp changes to Denied and the headline is adjusted to reflect that. Send corrections to hello@viceheist.com — we read every message.
Funding & Disclosure
Vice Heist is funded by display advertising and a small number of affiliate links (for example, the privacy-tool partner card on the news index). Affiliate links do not influence what we cover, how we score rumors, or which articles we publish. We do not accept paid placements, sponsored news posts, or pre-release coverage in exchange for early access.
What We Won’t Publish
- Datamined assets, stolen code, or footage from leaked builds.
- Personal information about leakers, developers, or executives.
- “Source: my cousin works at Rockstar” rumors without independent corroboration.
- Headlines that say confirmed when the underlying claim is not, in fact, confirmed.
