How to Pre-Order GTA 6 — Every Platform, Ready for Day One

As of June 25, 2026, GTA 6 pre-orders are open on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and major retailers (Amazon, GameStop, Best Buy, Target, Walmart) for PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. The game launches November 19, 2026. PC is not part of this launch — there is no PC version dated yet.

One caution that still applies: only pre-order through an official storefront or a known major retailer. Any third-party site promising "early access" is a phishing risk.

The Two Editions

GTA 6 ships in exactly two editions — there is no Special tier and no physical Collector's edition. Full breakdown in Editions Explained; the short version:

• Standard — $79.99: the base game.
• Ultimate — $99.99: the base game plus premium content (Wyman's project cars, a '95 Grotti Cheetah, exclusive Hawk & Little weapons, Special Destinations, 50+ tattoos, and more).

For most players, Standard is the right call — the $20 gap is vehicles, weapons, and cosmetics, not story.

What Every Pre-Order Gets

• Vintage Vice City Pack — retro 1980s outfits for Jason and Lucia, for any pre-order (digital or physical) placed before November 20, 2026.
• One month free GTA+ — on digital pre-orders only (PlayStation Store / Xbox Store). It auto-renews at $9/month, so cancel if you don't want it. Note GTA+ is for the existing GTA Online; GTA 6 itself launches single-player.
• Pre-load from November 12, 2026 — digital pre-orders can download a full week before unlock.

PlayStation Store (PS5 / PS5 Pro)

Prep:

• Confirm your PSN account region matches your purchase region — mismatches can block pre-orders.
• Pre-fund your wallet if you prefer not to use a card at checkout.
• Update your PS5 system software.

Steps:

1. Go to store.playstation.com or the PS5 Store.
2. Search "Grand Theft Auto VI."
3. Choose your edition (Standard or Ultimate).
4. Sign in and confirm. You're charged at pre-order or at unlock depending on settings — check your confirmation.

Xbox Store (Series X|S)

Prep:

• Confirm your Microsoft account and store region under account.microsoft.com.
• Verify your saved payment method (billing address, card expiry).
• Check whether your Xbox is set as your Home console (affects sharing).

Steps:

1. Go to xbox.com/games or open the Xbox Store app.
2. Search "Grand Theft Auto VI."
3. Choose your edition (Standard or Ultimate).
4. Sign in and confirm.

Retail (Physical Copy)

Available at GameStop, Best Buy, Amazon, Target, Walmart, and most gaming retailers, in both Standard and Ultimate.

Important: physical copies of GTA 6 contain a download code in the box, not a disc — for either edition. Physical pre-orders still include the Vintage Vice City Pack, but the digital-only GTA+ month and pre-load apply to PlayStation/Xbox Store purchases.

Prep: log in to each retailer account, confirm shipping address and payment, and for in-store pickup confirm your local store participates.

How to Cancel a Pre-Order

PlayStation: Purchase History → find the pre-order → "Cancel Pre-Order."

Xbox: account.microsoft.com → "Payment & billing" → "Order history" → find GTA VI → "Cancel."

Retail: cancel through the retailer's order history; physical pre-orders are typically not charged until they ship.
