GTA 6 Editions Explained — Standard, Special, Collector's
A three-tier editions ladder — Standard, Special, Collector's — is widely expected, but Rockstar has not officially announced editions or opened pre-orders. Here's the likely structure based on GTA V precedent, what each tier should include, and which is worth it.

Status note (June 9, 2026): Rockstar has not officially published a GTA 6 editions page or opened pre-orders — that's expected once the marketing campaign starts, in the late-June/early-July window. Everything below is projected from GTA V's launch ladder, not confirmed: the tier structure is the safe part (Rockstar has used Standard / deluxe / collector's for years), the specific contents are not. For what's actually on the record about price, see How Much Will GTA 6 Cost?.
GTA 6 is widely expected to ship on the same three-tier ladder Rockstar has used since GTA V: a Standard edition, a Special/deluxe upgrade, and a physical Collector's box. Here's what each tier will most likely include, what changes between them, and which is worth the upgrade — with the clear caveat that none of it is official until pre-orders open.
Standard Edition — ~$70
The base game. PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S. Digital and physical. No bonus content, no early-access window.
This is the right pick for most readers. The extras packed into deluxe tiers are, historically, modest in real impact — GTA V's launch-edition vehicle pack was a few hours of in-game work to recreate from the standard career. Zelnick has framed the standard edition in the $70–80 range; treat the exact number as unconfirmed until pre-orders open.
Special / Deluxe Tier — ~$100
No contents have been confirmed, but GTA V's deluxe editions set the template. The upgrade tier most likely bundles some combination of:
- A launch vehicle pack — a handful of bonus vehicles available from the start
- An outfit / wardrobe set for the single-player characters
- A weapons pack — early access to a few weapons
- GTA Online VI currency — a one-time in-game cash injection (GTA V's deluxe tier included GTA$). GTA Online VI launches post-release ("later in 2026")
- Online economy perks — discounts or boosts of the kind GTA V's premium edition carried
Every item here is expected from precedent, not announced. Historically most of the value sits in the online economy boost — which you can't use on day one, since GTA Online VI launches after the campaign.
Worth it if you intend to play heavily online. Otherwise: skip.
Collector's Tier — ~$250
Physical only. Rockstar hasn't announced a collector's edition; based on the GTA V and RDR2 collector's runs, expect the deluxe digital contents plus a box of physical goods — typically a steelbook, a printed map, art prints, pins, an apparel item, and a numbered certificate. Exact contents and the run size are unconfirmed.
If you collect Rockstar physical merchandise, the collector's tier is usually the draw — but there's no gameplay benefit over the Special tier. Worth it only if the physical goods specifically appeal to you.
Storefront Pre-Order Bonuses (Expected)
Pre-orders aren't open, so no storefront bonuses are confirmed. Based on GTA V and recent Rockstar launches, expect each storefront to layer a small platform-specific incentive on top of whichever edition you buy — typically cosmetic profile items on PSN and Xbox, a back-catalogue discount voucher on the Rockstar Launcher, and rotating exclusive steelbook variants at physical retailers. Treat all of it as unconfirmed until pre-orders go live.
What None of the Editions Will Include
- A day-one PC version. No PC SKU is expected at launch. Rockstar's pattern puts PC 12–18 months after console — see system requirements.
- A free PS5 → PC upgrade. No such program has ever existed for a Rockstar title.
- Crossplay. Not announced for online play.
- An offline-mode discount. All editions are full price regardless of online intent.
The Bottom Line
For most readers: Standard (~$70). If you played GTA V Online heavily and intend to do the same with VI: the Special / deluxe tier (~$100). If you collect Rockstar physical goods: the Collector's tier (~$250). None of this is official yet — the prices, contents, and bonuses all become real when Rockstar opens pre-orders.
