GTA 6 Launch Trailer: Justice Wrote the Score, and What Else It Actually Confirms

Rockstar released the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer on October 15 — 90 seconds captured on PS5, debuting 'Flower in a Hurricane' from Justice, now confirmed as the game's score composers. What it confirms, what it doesn't, and where the soundtrack stands.

Rockstar released the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer on October 15, five weeks before the November 19 release. It runs about 90 seconds, was captured in-game on a PS5, and debuts "Flower in a Hurricane" — a new song from Justice, whom Rockstar named alongside it as the game's original score composers, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.

That makes it one of the more useful trailers for anyone tracking the soundtrack, and one of the least revealing about the game itself.

What Rockstar confirmed

Confirmed. Rockstar's own announcement reads: "Watch the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer, featuring the debut of 'Flower in a Hurricane' from original score composers Justice feat. Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard."

  • Justice wrote the score. When Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album in September, it said the game had a dynamic score but named no composer. This is the answer.
  • A new song, and the ninth album track out. "Flower in a Hurricane" is streaming now, and Complex reports it will appear on the album and in the game. That brings the album's released tracks to nine of 34.
  • The pitch. Rockstar's description of the trailer: "Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive."

What's in the 90 seconds

Confirmed, as shown. The trailer opens with Jason's line "I got in some trouble in the Army," then moves through Vice City and the rest of Leonida, with brief looks at other characters and Jason and Lucia on high-stakes jobs. ComicBook found "nothing particularly noteworthy in it in terms of reveals," and Pure Xbox noted that most of the world on show was already in the Extended Look in August.

It was captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5, and it opens with PlayStation branding. As Pure Xbox pointed out, Xbox is nowhere to be seen, though the game launches on Xbox Series X|S on the same day.

What it doesn't confirm

  • No radio station. The trailer names a song, not a station. V-Rock is still only leaked.
  • No unlock time. The store listings still point to midnight local; Rockstar has published no timetable of its own. See the launch-day guide.
  • No file size. The PS5 download is reportedly 210 GB, per a size-tracking account, not Rockstar.
  • No frame-rate news. Rockstar North has said the console build runs at 30 FPS for now, and nothing in the trailer changes that.
  • No review date. That is reportedly November 18, per an insider, not Rockstar.

Where the soundtrack stands

Confirmed. Nine of the album's 34 tracks are out:

Released Track Artist
September 17 "That's It" Yung Lean feat. Future & Metro Boomin
September 17 "RHYNO" Travis Scott
September 17 "Sexy Magic" CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.., Etienne de Crécy

The other 25 arrive with the album on November 19. Rockstar has still named no radio station.

Is this Trailer 3?

Not by name. The community spent more than a year waiting for "Trailer 3," and it arrived on August 27 as Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look. This one is titled the Launch Trailer. Counting the 2023 reveal and Trailer 2 in 2025, it is Rockstar's fourth major GTA VI video.
