GTA 6: The Album — 34 Tracks, Six Out Now, and Still No V-Rock

Rockstar and Atlantic Records announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album on September 17 — 34 original tracks written for the game, releasing November 19, 2026, the same day as GTA 6 itself. Six are already streaming. This is the largest music announcement of the campaign, and it retires the line this site has carried since May: that only two GTA 6 songs were confirmed.

It also leaves one thing conspicuously unsaid. Rockstar promised "the next evolution of in-game radio" and named not one station.

What was actually announced

Confirmed. This came from Rockstar's own Newswire and an Atlantic Records press release — first-party on both sides, which is why this page is rated confirmed rather than reported.

The operative line from the announcement: the album "will arrive alongside the next evolution of the pioneering in-game radio stations, dynamic score, and musical touchpoints that anchor the series." Rockstar closed by telling readers to stay tuned for more on the dynamic score and the radio.

Two things follow from that sentence. The album is not the radio — it is a separate commercial release that sits alongside the in-game stations. And Rockstar is explicitly holding the radio reveal back for a later beat.

The six songs you can hear now

That leaves 28 tracks unannounced.

Speculation. Look at the spread of those six: Atlanta trap, a UK hyperpop-and-house cluster, mainstream country, Latin pop, and a Rolling Stone. That is not what a playlist looks like when you release your six best songs. It is what a playlist looks like when you release one song per format — and GTA radio has always been organised by format. Reading the singles as a preview of the station lineup is a guess, but it is a guess the release pattern invites.

What Rockstar did not say

Confirmed: GTA 6 has in-game radio stations, plural, and Rockstar calls what is coming an evolution of them.

Not confirmed: any station name whatsoever.

That gap matters more than it looks, because "is V-Rock coming back" is among the most-asked questions about this game's music, and today's answer is the same as August's. A radio-station menu in the CyberLeek leak on August 20 appeared to list V-Rock — Vice City's original hair-metal station — alongside eMotion 98.3. That was, and remains, leaked material. An announcement that says "pioneering in-game radio stations" in the plural and then names none of them does not upgrade it.

We have kept V-Rock off the confirmed ledger since the leak, and it stays off today. The same goes for the dynamic score: Rockstar says there is one and has not named a composer.

The album ships on physical media. The game does not.

Here is the odd shape of November 19.

The Album gets a real physical release: CD, standard vinyl, retailer-exclusive pressings at Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Target, Barnes & Noble, Urban Outfitters, Blood Records and independent record stores — each with its own artwork and poster — plus a limited-edition pressing of two transparent magenta discs filled with blue liquid. That one sold out within minutes of pre-orders opening and is already being resold at a heavy markup.

The game does not. Boxed copies of GTA 6 contain a download code, not a disc, in either edition — see the editions explainer. PlayStation stops producing discs for new games in January 2028, and GTA 6 arrives fourteen months ahead of that line.

So the soundtrack is the GTA 6 object you can actually put on a shelf this November. That is a quirk of two industries moving in opposite directions rather than a statement by Rockstar — vinyl has spent a decade growing while game discs shrank — but if you were hoping for something physical at launch, this is what exists.

What this changes on this site

Three of our pages were built on a count that is now nine months out of date, and we have corrected them rather than leaving them to age:

• The soundtrack ledger was titled and structured around "both confirmed songs." Thirty-four are now confirmed. It has been rewritten around the album, and the V-Rock section kept, because that question is genuinely still open.
• The confirmed-facts ledger listed two confirmed songs and a pending soundtrack reveal. Updated.
• The feature ledger carried the same two-song line. Updated.

We also owe a scored call. The soundtrack ledger predicted Rockstar would reveal "the full soundtrack and radio-station lineup in the final pre-launch window, per Rockstar's prior pattern." Half of that landed, in a bigger form than we expected — an entire label-backed album with six singles, nine weeks out. The other half did not: there is still no station list. That goes on our prediction record as a partial, not a hit.

What to watch next

• The remaining 28 tracks. Atlantic has a nine-week runway and six singles already out; expect a steady drip rather than one tracklist drop.
• Station names. Rockstar has told you they are coming. Until one is named, V-Rock stays leaked — and we will move it the day that changes.
• The dynamic score. Named as a thing, with no composer attached. RDR2's Woody Jackson score got its own announcement; this one hasn't had it yet.
